For my final year project, I focused on a topic that is personal to me and many others. I wanted to explore how humans and dogs navigate our connected worlds, considering we are so closely linked to each other, but experience the world in vastly different ways.
As humans, we are constantly doing things that we assume to be correct, only to discover that it's actually the complete opposite thing to do or just makes no sense. This sentiment I felt could be very interesting to explore when it came to our understanding of dogs.

Research
Research covered a wide variety of different things, mainly through the reading of 'In Defence of Dogs' by John Bradshaw, and research and articles I gathered through topics I discovered.
Also, I constantly wrote down different thoughts that came to mind or questions that I could try answer. This way I could keep the content of the book different and also add a personal touch to the book.
Experiments/ Iterations
Once the idea was settled, the rest of this project was a long series of experiments, tests, and countless iterations of sketches and layouts.
I also began creating a distinct visual language through personal photographs I had and also collaging any imagery I had from my surroundings, trying to keep it as unique as possible to me.
Solution
168 pages later, my book was complete. This was a long  process and covered many areas. Mainly our history, exploring random thoughts I had, research I gathered regarding many related topics, and finally looking into my own thoughts and experiences with dogs throughout my life.
